How to Rat in a Myrmidon
With the VNI's loss of dominance in the area of ratting, the Myrmidon represents the Second Stepping Stone after the Vexor in the ratting ship chain. This ship offers significantly more tank than the Vexor, along with a decent increase in damage.
The Ratting Progression Chain
Fittings
The Myrmidon is viable in both Catch and Impass, utilizing an active armor and passive shield fit for the respective regions. As with all ratting ships if you have the ability to you should switch out the faction large drones for T2 ones.
Before flying either of these ships, please ensure you are cap stable without the energy neutralizers running!

Most players will probably want to utilize this increased capacitor fit, however if you find yourself cap-stable when dropping a Capacitor Power Relay you can switch it for a third Drone Damage Amplifier for increased DPS.

How to Run Sites
The Myrmidon should be used to run only Forsaken Rally Points and below. While Forsaken Hubs can be run with a bit of creativity, it pushes the limitations of your tank to do so.
Before Undocking
- You absolutely need to be on comms and in standing fleet so you can hear intel and call for support in real time.
- Make sure to insure your ship! The myrmidon costs only 40-50 mil (1-2 hours of ratting) to replace after insurance.
After Undocking
- IMPASS - Activate your Adaptive Invulnerability Fields and keep them active for the duration of your ratting.
- CATCH - Activate your Reactive Armor Hardener, Armor Repairers, and Omnidirecitonal Tracking Link (Tracking Speed Script) and keep them active for the duration of your ratting.
Repeat For Each Site
- Warp to the site a 0.
- Activate your Auto Targeting System and Afterburner, and begin orbiting a central part of the site at 15 km.
- Wait until all ships begin aggressing you before dropping drones and aggressing a rat.
- NOTE: You may be required to manually aggress some rats (especially cruisers/frigates) over the course of the site due to unpredictability in rat aggression.
If You Get Tackled
For Light Resistance
Light Resistance for the Myrmidon is a single tackle ship.- Align out to a citadel.
- Put your Neuts and EC-300s on the ship tackling you.
- If at any point the point drops, warp off.
For Heavy Resistance
Heavy Resistance is defined as more than one tackle ship, or a hard tackle ship such as Dictor, Hictor, or Keres.- Align out to a citadel
- Put
www <system>
in fleet chat. - Ask for support on comms.
- Heat your adaptive invulnerability fields to stay up for as long as possible.
