How to Rat in a Gila

The Gila is more expensive, less tanky, and insures worse than the Dominix. However it makes up for this with the ability to field cheap and extremely difficult to kill drones, and more importantly the ability to run both Havens and Sanctums.

Gila
Guristas Faction Cruiser

The Vexor Newbro Edition
Gallente T1 Cruiser
~20 Million ISK Low Skills

The Ratting Myrmidon
Gallente T1 Battlecruiser
~90 Million ISK Low Skills

The Ratting Dominix
Gallente T1 Battleship
~250 Million ISK Medium Skills

The Ratting Gila
Guristas Faction Cruiser
~300 Million ISK Medium Skills

Ratting Carriers
Minmatar Carrier
2-3 Billion ISK High Skills

Ratting Supers
Minmatar Supercarrier
17-20 Billion ISK High Skills

The Gila is unfortunately only able to run sites in Impass due to the damage dealt by the rats in Catch. While a proper fit can technically run Forsaken Hubs and Rally Points in Catch, the required configuration offers no advantages over the dominix.

Before flying the below fit, please ensure you are cap stable!

The Gila is unique among subcaps in its ability to run both Havens and Sanctums safely and effectively, along with lower level sites like Forsaken Hubs and Forsaken Rally Points.

Despite this you still want to avoid sites with Forlorn or Hidden in the name, as their spawns can still overwhelm you.

Before Undocking

  • You absolutely need to be on comms and in standing fleet so you can hear intel and call for support in real time.

After Undocking

  • Activate your adaptive invulnerability fields and run them for the duration of your ratting.

Sanctums

Sanctums need a bit of special attention due to their unique spawning mechanics, and therefor requires pilots to be active throughout the site. However just the ability to run these sites in the first place is incredibly valuable for a subcap.

The Gila is only capable of running Ring Sanctums, NOT Station Sanctums.

Repeat For Each Site

  1. Warp to the site at zero.
  2. Activate AB and orbit the center of the initial ring spawn at 15 km.
    1. For each spawn repeat this for the ring the ships spawned on.
  3. Drop drones and aggress a rat.
    1. Using rapid lights to kill frigates will moderately improve your ticks.

All Other Sites

With all other sites, including Havens and Forsaken Hubs, you can follow the same process as you have up until this point and run sites in a semi-AFK manner. Bear in mind though as with Sanctums using rapid lights to kill frigates will decently improve your payouts.

Repeat For Each Site

  1. Warp to the site at zero.
  2. Activate AB and orbit the center of the site at 15km.
  3. Drop drones and aggress a rat.
    1. Using rapid lights to kill frigates will moderately improve your ticks.

For Light Resistance

"Light" resistance is up to 3 of any frigate class, 2 of any destroyer class, or 1 T1 Cruiser.

  1. Begin aligning to a citadel.
  2. Immediately switch all damage including Rapid Lights to the ship tackling you.
  3. If the point drops or the enemy ship dies, warp off.

For Light Resistance

Anything that's stronger than "Light" resistance is "Heavy" resistance.

  1. Begin aligning to a citadel.
  2. Immediately switch all damage including rapid lights to the weakest tackle ship on field.
  3. Start screaming on comms and in fleet for support.
