Safety Tips on traveling between Highsec and Lowsec
Entering Low Security space may be scary to a new pilot. In truth, it could be just as dangerous as traveling through Null Security space and, as most older players keep saying, High Security space may be the scariest of them all!
Cloak Trick
Cloak Trick is a series of actions you can take using the module Improved Cloaking Device II and a Microwarpdrive that fits the size of your ship, that enables you, after you have jumped a gate, to align while cloaked.
If executed correctly, this technique will allow you to almost instantly warp the moment you stop being cloaked. The steps required are the following:
- Align to the location you wish to warp to. Could be the next gate you wish to jump to, a structure you may wish to dock into or a safe spot.
- Immediately afterwards, activate your cloak.
- Immediately after activating your cloak, activate your microwarpdrive (you need to be quick, as you can hit the MWD in a window of 5 seconds after activating your cloak). Note that if you are flying a DST (T2 hauler), you may have to deactivate your MWD just after activating it.
- When your MWD cycle is almost done, decloak.
- Spam warp to your destination.
- When your cloak breaks, you will enter warp instantly.
How does it work?
While you are cloaked, the MWD will limit your ship’s speed to 25% of its maximum speed. At the same time, the MWD will boost your ship’s speed by 500%.
When the cloak and MWD deactivate, you will already be aligned and at 75% of your maximum speed which enables you to warp out instantly.
Which ships benefit the most from the Cloak Trick?
Cloak Trick is mainly used with T1 Haulers and Deep Space Transports (which is one of the T2 hauler versions), thus allowing you to export your hard earned compressed asteroid & moon ore, ice, gas or whichever item from Oishami to Nullsec staging or Jita.
However, that is not to say that you may not use it with any ship you may wish to bring inside the Lonetreck Island!
Using Sub 2-sec Aligning Ships
Another way to safely move items through Lowsec, is to use sub 2-sec aligning ships. Since warp bubbles are not permitted in Lowsec, the usual way to lose your ship is getting caught after you have exited through a gate and while aligning out or getting smartbombed at a gate. Having a ship that aligns faster than 2 seconds, makes it nearly impossible to get caught.
While there are many ships that may fit the alignment criterion (Shuttles, Frigates, Destroyers) there is a ship that can also take some smartbomb damage and survive, all the while having a decent cargo hold: the Sunesis.
Below you may find 2 Sunesis fits, one fitted for max cargo hold and one fitted for very high warp speed, making the trips to Jita very fast.
Note: you will need almost perfect Spaceship Command and Evasive Maneuvering skills in order to have sub 2-sec alignment time with the following fits.

Fixing Triglavian Standings
There is nothing scarier than traveling through highsec and instantly getting pointed, immediately followed by having your ship and your pod destroyed by Triglavian NPCs.
Thankfully, getting yourself neutral to said NPCs is a fairly straightforward process that you can complete just once per character using the following method:
