The AIR Career Program is a game feature where you are rewarded with Skill Points (SP), some ISK, some basic items, and boosters. These rewards are for completing specific tasks and are designed for new characters as part of the extended New Player Experience (NPE).

This guide will walk you through farming SP through repeatedly doing these tasks on one character on your account, and redeeming said SP on your other character(s).

Why does this work?

SP gained through the AIR Career Program goes to your redeem queue, which makes this farming method viable. However, keep in mind that this can change if CCP changes the SP redemption method.
AIR Career Program SP

Pros
  • 750k SP per farmed character
  • Raw SP not penalized by characters’ total SP
  • Can be done on ~10-day cycles
  • A bit of ISK (~20-30m per character cycle)

In order to farm SP, you need the following:

  • An empty character slot for each account you plan to do this on
  • ~150m ISK starting capital
  • MCT on those accounts so you don't have to interrupt your main characters' training
  • Not required but preferred: Do this on at least 2 accounts. If doing it on one account, you need a friend for some of the tasks
Cons
  • Tedious simple tasks
  • Repetitive
  • Ties up one character slot on each account
  • Only 20-30m ISK per 10-day cycle. Definitely don't do this for ISK!
Need an empty character slot

Base of Operation

  • Buy and stage the ships in the next section
    • Starter systems are good for this, a good chunk of the AIR tasks can be done within the system
  • Considering where our coalition is staged, Amarr starter systems are a good option
Amarr Base of Operation
  • Space is less busy
  • Have to travel to get 1 or 2 of the minerals needed
Caldari Base of operation
  • Busy area
  • All minerals are available close by

Skill Plan

This is the skill plan needed to run AIR Career tasks using the ships in the next section.

It is recommended that you have one MCT active on your account, that way you don't need to pause your main character's training

MCT Options

No MCT Active
  • Your main character's training will be interrupted
  • Main character's training efficiency drops to ~70% (3 days to train the SP farmer, 7 days training main character)
1 MCT Active
  • Main character's training is not interrupted, 100% efficiency
  • Second character's training drops to ~70%
2 MCT Active
  • Main and second character training not interrupted
  • Third character slot training will only be used 30% of the time at best, hence not recommended

The Skill Plan

The plan should take about 3 days to train. Not the most efficient, but it is a more relaxed way of doing this

Shuttle

AIR Shuttle

You really thought there was a shuttle
fit?
I just don't like uneven tables! #OCD

Only the Standard Corm/Coercer is needed

  • The Standard destroyer is needed as a second ship for the Soldier of Fortune tasks
  • You can use the Salvage destroyer to salvage your shuttle wrecks
  • Definitely not essential, I find myself using the Salvage destroyer very rarely

The following are ongoing costs as you farm AIR tasks:

  • 25 shuttles (any variety)
  • 2.5m - 3m ISK in skillbooks
  • 1m - 1.5m ISK in filaments (Signal or Noise filaments, whichever is cheaper at the time)
  1. Create a new character, I like to rotate empire choices
  2. Start them on the skill plan, prioritize skills needed for the Sunesis

Step 1: Career Agents

  1. Do Career Agent missions in starter systems
  2. Start with Explorer, those missions don't need any skills trained
  3. Next do Producer and Entrepreneur in parallel
    1. The mission requiring the manufacture of 1MN Civilian Afterburner: Just repackage your corvette and turn in its AB
    2. There are two delivery missions, one for each agent, requiring 4-6 jumps, do these together to save time
    3. First mining mission with Veldspar, mine a full Venture load
    4. All missions can be done in a Venture. Ignore their insistence on fitting a weapon, just use drones
    5. Producer mission 9: Mine a full load of Kernite, you don't want to do this in LS/Null
    6. Producer mission 10: Turn in the frigate you get from the Explorer agent
  4. By then the basic skills for the Sunesis will be done. Run Enforcer and Soldier of Fortune missions in parallel
    1. SoF missions 2 & 5: insure the ship! Fit a Civ AB from your corvette. For mission 5 repackage and assemble your corvette a couple of times to get 3 free guns
    2. SoF mission 10: loot the Leader ship, small chance for a 4m ISK module

Don't forget to mine the Kernite!

  • If you don't mine a full Venture load of Kernite in Producer mission 9, you will have to go to LowSec

Step 2: The Sisters of Eve Epic Arc

  1. Run the SoE arc in the PvE Gnosis, more than enough damage and tank
  2. Make sure to drop MTU and salvage with drones until you complete the 'salvage 50 wrecks' task. Ignore salvaging after that
  3. No need to loot, drops are overwhelmingly bad
  4. Find a distribution agent on your way back to your staging system and run 2 level 1 distribution missions

Step 3: Finish Enforcer Tasks

  • If combat sites task not completed, run level 1/2 sites near your staging system
  • Combat should be done by now, if not, do a bit of PvE level 1/2 sites to get the last 50 points
  • Market: buy 5 Signal or Noise filaments

Step 4: Soldier of Fortune Tasks

It is recommended you do this with 2 Omega characters, if that's not possible, you need a friend to do this part fast

  • Social: chat, evemail, join fleet with one of your other characters
  • Duels: Put the second character in the standard Corm fit, and invite to duel
  • EWAR: Use the AIR Gnosis refit, hit your other character (or your friend) with all 5 ewar at once. You have enough cap
  • Cap Warfare: while hitting the second character with EWAR, use both capacitor types on it. May have to wait for its cap to recharge
    • Note: For the Nosferatu Drain, run your shield reps a few times to drop your cap below the other ship's
  • Support: Hit the Corm with your drones and heal its armor and shield
  • Destruction: dock the Gnosis. Come back in shuttles 20 times and have the Corm kill you
    • Note: set the station in your system as home station, and have the corm pod you for faster turnaround
  • PvP: Dock the Corm and come back with shuttles 5 times on the second character. First character can take the corm or use the Gnosis drones
  • If you're not done with the 50 salvage tasks, come back in the salvage corm and get the 25 shuttle wrecks

Refresh the Duel!

  • Make sure your safety is green. If the duel expires while you're doing these tasks, you don't want to be concorded!

Step 5: Industrialist Tasks

  • Market: sell the two haulers you got from the Career Agents
  • While mining, submit 50 project discovery samples
  • Resource Harvesting: Mine the ores from HS belts. You have to travel for Plagioclase if you're based in Amarr space
  • Refining: reprocess the ore you mined
  • Manufacturing: Build one frigate using the BPC the career agent gave you
  • Research: Buy the cheapest ammo BPO (should be 20k ISK) and do these tasks
    • Remember that the copying defaults to a high number which will take a very long time, just change that to 1 and it should take 2 minutes

Step 6: Explorer Tasks

  • Project Discovery: do these quickly if you didn't finish while mining
  • Scanning: scan the same signatures again and again in the starter system, should be plenty
  • Wormholes: scan a WH near the starter system (one usually spawn 1-2 jumps away). Scan it over and over to finish this
  • Note: with a recent update CCP made scanning the same signature again and again not directly possible. Now you have to scan once, dock up, log out and back in, scan again.
  • Scans after the first one should be fast since when you undock in the same system after relog probes should be right on the signature
  • Advanced Navigation: Use the filaments you bought to go to null, shuttle around to visit 5 null and 5 LowSec regions
  • Combat Sites: if not already done, warp between ratting anomalies in Null while you're traveling between regions
  • Hacking: Scan and hack cans in HiSec, harder near Jita since that area is usually busy
  1. Redeem the SP, ISK, and basic item rewards on one of your other characters on that account
  2. Transfer all assets from the character that finished farming SP to another character, also transfer all their ISK
  3. Double check the character has no more assets or ISK
  4. Biomass the character, wait 10 hours, create and new one and go back to Step 1

That's it! Pretty simple, if tedious. Again, this farming method is only valid as long as SP farmed goes to your redeem queue. If CCP changes that, ignore this entire guide! :sadge:
