How to Rat in a Myrmidon

With the VNI's loss of dominance in the area of ratting, the Myrmidon represents the Second Stepping Stone after the Vexor in the ratting ship chain. This ship offers significantly more tank than the Vexor, along with a decent increase in damage.

You can make between 9-13 million isk/tick (every 20 minutes) using this fit, assuming a 100% Bounty Risk Modifier.

How to Run Sites

If You're New to Ratting

Give the Introduction to Ratting page a read to avoid common mistakes and get some background knowledge.

Running Each Site

Your Armor Repairers, Afterburner, and Omnidirectional Tracking Link should always be active while you're in a site.

  1. Warp to the site at 50km.
  2. Find an object around the center of where the rats are spawning, and orbit it at 50km.
  3. Wait for the rats to aggress you, then drop Praetors and aggress a rat.
    1. If your drones come under attack, recall them repeat the previous step.

Kill Order: Cruisers → Destroyers → Frigates → Battleships → Battlecruisers

Site-Specific Information

Some sites require special attention due to a particularly nasty wave or unusual mechanics.

Havens (Stargate Variant)
  • The second last wave of this site spawns 3 - 4 Energy Neutralizing Cruisers. You want to immediately focus these down after they spawn before they can get into neuting range.
  • The final wave of this site has Corpus Popes that can push the limits of your tank. Primary these ships first to prevent your tank from breaking.
  • The final wave of this site may spawn NPC Capitals. If an NPC Capital appears you must warp off immediately to avoid being volleyed.
Hubs
  • This site has a warp-in position unusually far off the rats' spawn point. You'll want to warp to this site at zero.

Additional Information

Runnable Sites

The sites in this list have been tested and determined to be runnable using the above fit(s). It is not necessarily comprehensive, and some sites may require special attention which will be noted in the section above.

  • Blood Raider Havens (Stargate Variant)
  • Blood Raider Forsaken Hubs
  • Blood Raider Hubs
  • Blood Raider Forsaken Rally Points

If You Get Tackled

For Light Resistance

Light Resistance for the Myrmidon is a single tackle ship.

  1. Align out to a citadel.
  2. Put your damage or EC-300s on the ship tackling you.
  3. If at any point the point drops, warp off.

For Heavy Resistance

Heavy Resistance is more than one tackle ship, or a hard tackle ship such as Dictor, Hictor, or Keres.

  1. Align out to a citadel
  2. Put www <system> in fleet chat and ask on comms for support.
  3. Pick a target and put some damage on.
  4. Heat your Armor Repairers to stay up for as long as possible.
