Flying Your Noctis
Salvaging
Unlike the algos with its 5 - 6 second align time, the noctis isn't really capable of bouncing from wreck-to-wreck efficiently. Its MWD affords it some level of maneuverability, but where it really shines is its massive bonus to tractor beam speed, allowing it to quickly hoover up any wrecks within its roughly 90 km lock range. Pick a roughly central spot in the wreck field, then use your tractor beams to bring wrecks to you, looting and salvaging once they're in range. Ideally you want to always be tractoring something in. An MTU can be used to make this process a bit less APM intensive.
Characteristics of Your Noctis
Defensive Capabilities
The noctis's stats don't directly align with those of any standard ship class, with most falling somewhere between those of cruisers and battlecruisers. Tank is around 24,000 EHP, most of which is in the hull. The ship has the capacity for 5 small drones, which without bonuses are best populated by EC-300s. As such the noctis has no offensive capabilities. Align time is between 16 and 20 seconds, though that can be reduced to 10 seconds by one-cycling the MWD. And on the topic the ship manages just shy of 1,000 m/s with said MWD active.
With all this in mind, the noctis should really only be used when supported by combat-capable ships, or when there's no hostile presence in the area.
