Mumble

Mumble is a voice over IP (VoIP) application primarily designed for use by gamers, similar to programs such as TeamSpeak and Ventrilo.

Mumble uses a client–server architecture which allows users to talk to each other via the same server.[2] It has a very simple administrative interface and features high sound quality and low latency. All communication is encrypted to ensure user privacy.

If you run into trouble get in touch with the IT team.

  • Socialize with other Brave members
  • Join fleet comms and listen to the Fleet Commander's orders, and keep up with intel as it comes in
  • Get involved with other segments of BRAVE

Note: Ubuntu Only, Please see your distro repositories for packages.

Please Note: This is not an official build from the Mumble team. Use at your own risk.

Setting up Mumble

You need to be set up with Core Auth for Brave in order to access the BRAVE Mumble.

Grant the Mumble Management App authorization to use your Core information.

Authorize

Double check the correct character is being displayed, click the triangle to select another character.
  • If you see a Server Error, refresh your web browser.
  • If you see an IndexError: list index out of range, Core doesn't know about any of your characters. Please try adding a new API key or refreshing your old API key at the Keys page.

Configure your password in the Mumble Management App.

When shown the Mumble password page type a good password or passphrase into the box and press enter. This password needs to be complex, but it is saved for you in Mumble so you will generally only need to remember it the first time. It can also be changed at any time in the future.

Step 1

When you see one green check, your password is adequately complex.
Copy pasting a password may not work!
Step 2

After you press enter you should see two green checks.
Your password is not saved until you see two green checks.
  • You can use this site to generate a strong password you can copy and paste (be aware that pasting sometimes leads to a problem) into the manager.
  • A four word sentence (special characters and spaces are permitted) usually works.
  • If you paste a password into this box you must press enter twice.

Use your newly configured credentials to login to the Mumble client.
