So, you don't have a current subscription to EVE, but you still want to fly with Brave? Not a problem - we are open to players of all skill levels and abilities, including those in the free-to-play alpha clone state. See below for a full list of the services we can offer you.
===== What are Alpha Clones? =====
Alpha Clones are Eve Online accounts that do not have a monthly subscription fee like Omega Accounts do. They're effectively a Free-to-Play option. These types of accounts were [[https://www.eveonline.com/article/introducing-clone-states-and-the-future-of-access-to-eve-online|first added in 2016]], and [[https://www.eveonline.com/article/new-alpha-training-option|later modified in 2017]] to remove a lot of the original restrictions. Today Alpha Clones are a legitimate free-to-play option for many people, from casual players to newbies and even to returning players wanting to ease their way back into the game.
==== What are the Tradeoffs? ====
Alpha Clones come with a few restrictions, though even with these it's definitely still feasible for most people to play the game using them.
=== Alts (Alternate Accounts) ===
There is no limit on the amount of Alpha Accounts you can own, however you can only log in one Alpha Account at a time. These accounts also cannot be logged in at the same time as Omega Accounts.
=== Ships and Modules ===
Alpha characters cannot fly Tech 2, Tech 3, or Capital Ships. With that said, they CAN use all T1 and Faction Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers, Battlecruisers, and Battleships. They can also use most T2 modules through the Battlecruiser level, and Tech 1 / Faction / Deadspace / Officer Modules through the Battleship level.
=== Skill Training ===
Alpha Characters train skills at half the rate of Omegas. They are also restricted to about 20 million skillpoints (about 2.5 years worth) of skills, and cannot 'naturally' train past 5 million skillpoints (about 7 months worth). Once you reach 5 million skillpoints you need to either upgrade to Omega or use 'Daily Alpha Injectors' to continue training, each of which is the equivalent of 1 day's training. These can be purchased from CCP using PLEX or from the market using ISK.

===== Life as an Alpha Clone in Brave =====
Alpha clones can still participate in a wide variety of activities and programs in Brave. Alphas can both join and lead most kinds of fleets, take advantage of our programs like Bravebucks and SRP, and claim handouts from the dojo.
==== What Can I Fly? ====
Almost all our [[/member/alliance/military/doctrines/|Alliance Fleet Doctrines]] have components that can be flown by Alpha Characters. Doctrines with mainline DPS ships that can be flown by Alphas have an label. Those with other support ships like logistics, ewar, and tackle that can be flown by Alphas have an label.
==== What Should I Train? ====
Alpha Clones can follow our [[/public/alliance/military/skillplans/|Alliance Skillplans]] up to and including the Novice level, along with any associated T1 ships. You won't be able to train all the skills, but you should still be effective in those ships.
